Sens in the Process

Moushumi Sen, LCSW

Being a healer comes from an authentic space for me. Listening skills and empathy is a practice for me and truly developed as I gained feedback from great mentors. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have been fortunate to meet people from all walks of life. This experience has enabled me to really reflect on our species and brought about some amazing insight on myself and even others.  I am now taking the journey to listen to that inner voice more often and activate my education, experience, and intuition.

My ability to be genuine and be introspective derives from examining my own actions from the past and how it affects the present and the future. Intuition is one of those things that us humans typically ignore. You know that “gut feeling” you get when making choice? How many times have you followed those feelings? It’s really important to be aware of what drives us and brings us a sense of purpose. In my culture of origin, dharma is purpose. I am of Bengali (South Asian/Indian) descent. I am making connections with embracing the dichotomy of  being American and ethnically South Asian. These cultural identities have always been part of my childhood growing up in the SF Bay Area. The path began from then as my curiosity and life experiences brought me closer to make associations around patterns of behavior and the role of the subconscious mind. It is so much more powerful than we imagined. Just imagine the possibilities and what you would do with it.

Our family has been in discussion about transformations to be “in the process” and to share this experience. Our journey with Sens in the Process has now became more than a concept. We will take this journey with you and embracing ourselves and invite you to observe cooking, travel, fitness (mental and physical), and of course, wellness.

LEARN, LOVE, AND LIVE!

Anirban Sen

I am an aspiring modern day Rennaissance man.

Not quite sure what that means, and I'm still figuring it out. I suppose it entails the pursuit of many different interests with a somewhat serious modicum of effort.

Let's see, I've been embedded in the culture of Silicon Valley for over 20 years as a 'techie'. I have worn many hats over the years, all for other people and corporations. My most recent endeavor (and my most lengthy career pursuit) has been that of a Product Manager.

I'm a lover of art and literature. Growing up, I was fortunate enough to have been exposed to the works of the likes of Jules Verne, Arthur Conan Doyle, Mary Shelley, J.R.R. Tolkien and others. I suppose I'm quite a bibliophile as I have amassed a significant collection of books. Art to me, is in the eye of the beholder. I appreciate comic art as well as the analog nature of old automobiles and clockwork. I truly believe that art of all sorts can be the soothing balm that the mind yearns for in today's helter-skelter rat race.

For over 20 years, I have been a student and practitioner of several martial arts. I find that expression of your body is just as powerful as the expression of your mind. Over the years, I have trained in Uechi Ryu Karate, Wing Chun, Escrima, and for the last 2 years, I have taken up the practice of Jiu Jitsu. There are so many benefits to practicing martial arts, and I look forward to sharing my experiences and lessons with you.
